September 1 the final stage of “Fighting Concord-2003” military exercise with participation of anti-aircraft detachments making part of the Anti-Aircraft United System of the CIS member countries commenced on Ashuluk Russian ground. As reported by “Krasnaya Zvezda” Moscow newspaper, at the exercises to last till September 4 Armenia is represented by its anti-aircraft and missile brigade and anti-aircraft and missile regiment. Conditions similar to those in the military conflicts in the Balkans and Iraq are created on the ground, the press service of the Russian Air Force reported. It is planned to work through issues of using anti-aircraft formations and units in anti-terrorist operations and local armed conflicts. A meeting of the Anti-Aircraft Coordination Committee under the Council of the CIS Defense Ministers is also planned to be held in Ashuluk September 3.
