RAO UES OF RUSSIA SHAREHOLDERS CONCERNED OVER COMPANY’S SECRETIVE BARGAINS WITH ARMENIA

Stockholders of RAO UES of Russia are concerned over the latest investments of the company made in the Armenian and Georgian energy systems. As Vedomosti Russian newspaper writes, the stockholders demand the UES of Russia management group to provide them with the details of the bargains made in these countries, and also to clarify what will happen in case the company terminates its activity. Meanwhile, in the opinion of the UES of Russia’s representative, the claims of the shareholders are groundless, as the foreign purchases are made only with the permission of the principal stockholder, that is the state. Besides, in case with Armenia, it was an intergovernmental agreement, while UES of Russia only manages these actives, the authority emphasized.
