A special reception honoring Dr. Martin Deranian on his 90th birthday will be held in recognition for his life-time commitment to the well-being of the Armenian community throughout Massachusetts on Sunday, March 4.
The reception is sponsored by the Friends of Deported Committee in association with the Armenian Library and Museum of America (ALMA), the National Association for Armenian Studies and Research (NAASR), the Knights and Daughters of Vartan, the Council of Armenian Executives, the Armenian Medical Association, and the Armenian Dental Association, according to the ALMA press office.
"Deported: A Dream Play" (Modern Theatre, 525 Washington St., Boston, March 8-April 1) features the true story of Dr. Deranian's mother and playwright Joyce Van Dyke's grandmother.
Joyce Van Dyke, Dr. Myron Allukian, Haig Deranian, and others will speak about Dr. Deranian's enormous contribution to the Armenian community.
