ACCORDING TO PRELIMINARY DATA TWO ARMENIANS ELECTED TO IRANIAN PARLIAMENT

Due to the outcomes of the parliamentary elections held in Iran February 20, two Armenians have been elected to the legislative body of the country. As reported by Ailq newspaper published in Iran in the Armenian language, upon the poll at the constituencies of Tehran and Northern Iran, engineer Gevork Vardan gained over 87% of votes. More than 13,5 thousand of Armenians took part in the polling. About 3000 thousand Armenians voted at 7 election centers in Isfahan and Southern Iran, where nominated by the Armenian population Robert Beglarian received over 95% of votes.
