The Council of Gwynedd County, situated in north-west of Wales, will debate, and probably vote on the issues of recognition of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey and the economic blockade of the Republic of Armenia February 26. As reported by the Wales Armenia Solidarity (WAS), the Council will also pass a corresponding document, condemning the economic blockade Turkey holds against Armenia. According to the source, already in October 2002, at the instigation of the WAS, the majority of Members of the National Assembly of Wales signed a Declaration of Opinion similar to this week’s motion.
