Switzerland supports OSCE MG efforts to settle Karabakh conflict

Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian held talks with the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland Didier Burkhalter on March 14 during his official visit to Bern.

According to the Foreign Ministry's press service, the parties discussed issues on development of bilateral cooperation in various fields, as well as regional and international questions. Foreign Ministers noted with content that the links between Armenia and Switzerland have developed significantly in recent years.

The parties agreed on boosting consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries and developing cooperation within the international organizations’ framework. Issues on developing trade and economic ties were also on the agenda.

Nalbandian and Burkhalter discussed processes ongoing in South Caucasus as well. In this context, Armenian Minister presented the process of Karabakh conflict resolution to his Swiss counterpart. Burkhalter said Switzerland follows the process and backs the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs while believing that the conflict may be resolved only in a peaceful way.
