The law enforcers of the Russian city of Krasnodar are searching for those, who desecrated over a dozen of Armenian graves at the cemetery the day before. As reported by Yerkramas, the newspaper of Armenians of the South of Russia, the criminal case was initiated due the article of “hooliganism”. However the policemen do not wish to announce their version yet. They only informed that the act of vandalism had been planned beforehand, as there had not been found any signs of a crowbar or other heavy objects on the gravestones. The expertise showed that some footprints of high-boots were found at the cemetery. The policemen are convinced that the crime was committed under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In the words of head of the Krasnodar criminal police Andrey Klochko, when analogous incident happened in April 2002 – over thirty gravestones were destroyed – the accused parsons avoided punishment thanks to the well-organized defense. This time he assured that the ones to blame will be punished by any means. To remind, March 1 at night at the Slavonic cemetery of Krasnodar about 10 headstones of Armenians were destroyed, one monument for the second time already.
