Head of the Institute of Eastern Europe and CIS countries commented on Prosperous Armenia party’s refusal to get involved in formation of government formation.
Alexander Tsinker called attention to party leader Gagik Tsarukyan’s wishing success and productive activity to the new government.
“The statement implies that Prosperous Armenia’s parliamentary group will position itself as a mild opposition, backing government decisions on several issues. However, the party may assume the right to take its own decision by the upcoming presidential race. In all probability, the party’s refusal to join coalition transferred the political haggling to fall,” Alexander Tsinker said.
According to the expert, Prosperous Armenia won’t be an irreconcilable force in the parliament.
“The talks may continue after the formation of government coalition. The coalition may expand if Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and Prosperous Armenia take a common decision on single candidacy at upcoming presidential race,” the political analyst said.
