Editor says situation relatively calm in Beirut

It was relatively calm in Beirut on October 22 morning, with the roads occasionally blocked only in the Southern districts, Aztag paper editor-in-chief said.

As Shahan Kandaharian told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, the area surrounding the government building was strictly controlled by law enforcement agencies.

“People went to work; life gradually returns to normal. However, the overall tensions still remain,” he said.

“Different political statements will probably be issued during the day, as the opposition continues demanding resignation of the government,” Kandaharian said, adding that the superpowers “stand for the stability in the country.”
