On April 19, Acting Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Permanent Representative of Ireland to the EU Rory Montgomery signed Armenia-EU readmission agreement.
“Armenia signed a readmission agreement with over 10 EU countries. The agreement laid the foundation for the readmission process on legal basis,” Mr. Nalbandian said.
According to him, significant progress was reported over the past years in Armenia-EU cooperation in migration and promotion of human communication.
“We hope for speedy ratification of the visa facilitation agreement signed in December 2012 and the readmission deal signed today, April 19. This may signal the start of negotiations on lifting visa requirements between Armenia and EU,” Mr. Nalbandian said.
