Azerbaijan prepares ground for more provocations: Karabakh

A statement by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry suggesting that the Armenian side violated the ceasefire overnight on October 30-31 using 60-mm mortars, AGS-17 grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns is completely false, the Karabakh Defense Army said, characterizing the statement as another propagandistic trick by Baku.

"Not only does Azerbaijan continue straining the situation with regular ceasefire violations and subversive attacks, but it also makes provocations in the information field," the Karabakh army said.

"Our troops always remain committed to the ceasefire and never launch attacks."

According to the Karabakh side, Azerbaijan is preparing the ground for more provocations by disseminating such disinformation.

Around 100 ceasefire violations by the Azerbaijani army were registered along the contact line with Nagorno Karabakh over the weekend of October 29-30. In the reporting period, Azeri troops used various caliber firearms to fire over 2300 shots towards the Armenian positions. Also, several Azerbaijani servicemen were spotted carrying out mine clearance activities in the neutral zone.
