Lavrov, Bayramov discuss Armenia-Russia-Azerbaijan statements

Russian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers Sergei Lavrov and Jeyhun Bayramov on Tuesday, November 2 discussed the implementation of statements of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia, signed on November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021.

Issues of eliminating tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, unblocking all transport and economic ties in the South Caucasus, creating a favorable atmosphere for regional cooperation were also on the table, according to a statement from the Russian side.

Lavrov stressed the importance of continuing efforts aimed at a political and diplomatic settlement of the range of problems in relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The Russian foreign policy chief earlier spoke to his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan, and the two weighed in on the repatriation of Armenian captives, the transfer of maps of minefields and the preservation of cultural and religious heritage.
