The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Monday, January 10 lowered travel recommendations from "Level Four: Very High" to "Level 3: High" to Armenia.
The CDC says Americans should be fully vaccinated before traveling to Level 3 destinations, while Level 4 destinations should be avoided altogether.
Also Monday, the U.S. State Department issued a fresh travel advisory for Armenia, assigning the country a "Level 3: Reconsider Travel" badge.
The State Department also said American citizens should continue avoiding travel to Nagorno-Karabakh surrounding territories due to recent hostilities.
