High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell has said that the recent meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov in Tbilisi, Georgia was an important step towards a comprehensive solution.
"The EU is fully engaged in support of peaceful, secure and prosperous South Caucasus," Borrell said in a tweet Monday, July 19.
"Normalisation/Reconciliation can be achieved only in direct dialogue."
Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken welcomed the meeting, describing it as a "positive step".
