U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov discussed efforts to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan in phone talks on Monday, September 5.
“Bayramov said during the conversation that Azerbaijan is ready to fulfill the agreements on the preparation by the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia of a draft peace treaty in accordance with the decision taken on August 31 at a meeting in Brussels of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, President of the European Council Charles Michel and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan,” Interfax.az cited the country’s Foreign Ministry as saying.
European Council President Charles Michel hosted a meeting with Pashinyan and Aliyev on August 31.
