Armenia, Russia, Azerbaijan discuss “joint efforts” to normalize ties

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan – Ararat Mirzoyan, Sergei Lavrov and Jeyhun Bayramov – met in Astana on the sidelines of CIS events to discuss “joint efforts to normalize Azerbaijani-Armenian relations”, the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.

“They reaffirmed the commitment to comprehensive compliance with all the provisions of the statements of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia dated November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“A substantive review was conducted on issues of unblocking economic and transport ties in the region through the Trilateral Working Group co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, the work of the Commission on the delimitation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border with the advisory assistance of Russia, the dialogue of public representatives and experts from the three countries. Special attention is paid to the course of negotiations on the conclusion of a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia.”

The tree reportedly agreed to continue trilateral contacts at various levels in the near future.
