The first deputy head of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Russian lawmaker Konstantin Zatulin has said that the fact of ethnic cleansing perpetrated by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh is beyond doubt, Gazeta․ru reports.
“At least in the sense that the entire population of Nagorno-Karabakh left their homes from territories that are their homeland,” Zatulin said.
He emphasized that ethnic cleansing of Azerbaijan in Karabakh really took place, “no matter what anyone says in the world, in international organizations and so on.”
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, described Azerbaijan’s ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh as an “allegation of ethnic cleansing” and said that she “would like to get some facts” about it.
