The trial of Artsakh's military-political leaders, presided over by Judge Zeynal Aghayev, resumed on February 11 at the Baku Military Court.
According to 1news.az , each defendant has been provided with translators and legal representatives.
Prosecutors presented the final part of the indictment, emphasizing that the alleged "criminal acts" were carried out by a so-called "criminal community" led by former Armenian and Artsakh leaders: Robert Kocharyan, Serzh Sargsyan, Vazgen Manukyan, Vazgen Sargsyan, Samvel Babayan, Vitali Balasanyan, Zori Balayan, Seyran Ohanyan, Arshavir Gharamyan, Monte Melkonian, and others.
The indictment claims these actions were "executed with the support and oversight of Armenia's high-ranking officials, its structural subdivisions, and armed forces, in violation of domestic and international legal norms."
The trial is set to continue on February 14.
*Azerbaijani media reported that during the February 6 hearing, former Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan and ex-Foreign Minister Davit Babayan denied any mistreatment of them and other detainees. Harutyunyan also refuted Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's claim that Azerbaijani authorities were using psychotropic substances to extract statements aimed at provoking regional escalations.
Davit Babayan commented: "Let those who could have been in our place ask themselves how they would have acted."*
