Galuzin: Russia open to help Yerevan-Baku peace process

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin has stated that Russia is ready to contribute to the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

He emphasized that the primary directions have been defined in the trilateral agreements signed by the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan in 2020 and 2022, according to Izvestia.

“We believe it is essential to move forward in those directions—preparation of a peace treaty, unblocking economic ties and transportation links in the region, delimitation and future demarcation of borders, and establishing dialogue between civil societies and parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Naturally, as a participant in the trilateral agreements, the Russian side is ready to continue contributing to their implementation—in the format that suits both parties,” Galuzin stated.

On July 10, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met in Abu Dhabi to discuss various aspects of normalizing interstate relations. Both sides confirmed that bilateral negotiations are the most effective format to address all issues related to the normalization process and agreed to continue such results-oriented dialogue. The meeting lasted five hours.
