“The EU strongly supports the normalization process between the two countries. We call on the parties to begin signing and ratifying the peace agreement as soon as possible. The EU is ready to offer further support and expert assistance if requested by the parties,” said Hipper, commenting on the July 10 meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Abu Dhabi.

She described the negotiations as “an important step toward establishing lasting peace and security in the region.”

On July 10, Aliyev and Pashinyan met in Abu Dhabi to discuss the peace agenda. The talks, held in both face-to-face and extended formats, lasted nearly five hours. The sides agreed to continue bilateral negotiations and confidence-building measures between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
