Turkey closely monitors Armenia-Azerbaijan talks: Erdogan

Turkey is closely following the ongoing peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which began with a dialogue in Abu Dhabi, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said during a phone conversation with United Arab Emirates President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

According to Erdoğan, Ankara will continue to support initiatives aimed at fostering stability in the South Caucasus.

The Turkish presidential communications office reported that the leaders also addressed issues related to regional security during their discussion.

On July 10, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Ilham Aliyev met in Abu Dhabi to discuss various aspects of normalizing Armenia-Azerbaijan interstate relations. Both sides confirmed that bilateral talks are the most effective format for addressing all relevant matters, agreeing to continue the results-oriented dialogue. The meeting lasted approximately five hours.
