Employees of the migration department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have deported 25 foreign nationals, including citizens of Russia. This was reported by the ministry’s press service.
According to the ministry, citizens of eleven countries—Azerbaijan, Armenia, Egypt, India, Jordan, Iran, Nigeria, China, Pakistan, Russia, and Turkey—were expelled as a result of actions carried out in recent days. All deported individuals are now banned from re-entering the country, TASS reports.
In recent months, Georgia has intensified efforts to combat illegal migration. The country’s parliament has passed stricter migration laws, simplifying procedures for deportation and searches of migrants. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports dozens of deportation cases involving foreign nationals each month.
