Peace agreement may reshape South Caucasus: U.S. Senator

U.S. Republican Senator Steve Daines emphasized in his article published by The Wall Street Journal that the South Caucasus and Central Asia are emerging as strategic hubs for sustainable development and international cooperation.

According to Daines, the signing of a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan could create new opportunities for the countries of the South Caucasus and for broader international engagement.

He noted that both Armenia and Azerbaijan are striving for more autonomous foreign policies and see future potential in closer ties with the international community. He also drew special attention to the Middle Corridor, describing it as a promising East-West trade route.

On May 31, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with a U.S. delegation led by Senator Steve Daines in Yerevan to discuss the development of Armenia-U.S. relations and regional security issues. Daines also visited Azerbaijan.
