Iranian MP Amir Moghaddam has stated that the so‑called “Zangezur Corridor” project poses a serious threat to Iran’s national interests. He added that Azerbaijan is attempting to implement this project with the support of the U.S. and Israel, according to Auroranews.am .
Moghaddam emphasized that the matter remains unresolved but that Americans are closely watching and pushing for rapid realization of the plan. He warned that such an initiative could directly threaten regional security and Iran’s interests.
The MP urged Iran’s parliament to use all available leverage to prevent its implementation, and said the government bears the primary responsibility to diplomatically neutralize hostile projects. He also referenced that the Supreme Leader’s adviser, Ali Akbar Velayati, warned the corridor could subject Iran and Russia to land‑based isolation.
