Turkish cabinet to discuss Armenia-Azerbaijan agreements

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is set to discuss the recently signed Yerevan-Baku agreements, as well as stability in the South Caucasus and the expansion of regional trade, during a cabinet meeting on August 11, CNN Türk reported.

According to Ermenihaber, the agenda will also include the August 8 initial signing in Washington of the “Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.”

The meeting will further address developments and actions aimed at safeguarding Syria’s territorial integrity, along with the “Terror-Free Turkey” strategic concept.

On August 8 at the White House, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a joint Declaration on the results of the Washington meeting.

In Washington, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in the presence of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States, initialed the “Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
