Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had a phone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, congratulating him on the long-term peace and reliable security arrangements with Armenia, achieved in the South Caucasus through the mediation of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Zelensky noted that the international community responded very positively to the Washington trilateral meeting and expressed hope that “everything will succeed.”
He also stated that he and Aliyev discussed cooperation in the energy sector.
Azerbaijani authorities have accused Russia of carrying out “deliberate airstrikes” on the state-owned SOCAR oil terminal and other Azerbaijani facilities in Ukraine, as well as on a gas compressor station supplying Azerbaijani gas to Ukraine.
