Pashinyan, Aliyev back Trump’s Nobel Peace Prize nomination

The White House has officially nominated U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

A list of world leaders and officials supporting the nomination has been published, including Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, Gabonese President Brice Oligui Nguema, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the government of Pakistan, and Rwandan Foreign Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe.

During a trilateral summit in Washington between the leaders of Armenia, the U.S., and Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said: “Let me make a suggestion—perhaps Prime Minister Pashinyan and I could agree to jointly appeal to the Nobel Committee to award President Trump the Nobel Peace Prize.” Pashinyan responded: “We will support that.”
