According to Minval.az, on September 1, the OSCE Ministerial Council decided to halt the activities of the Minsk process, including the personal representative of the chair-in-office and the High-Level Planning Group.
“All OSCE decisions related to the former Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict are considered invalid,” the statement said.
The dissolution of the Minsk Group, which had held the mandate to mediate the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, was a longstanding demand of the Azerbaijani government.
On August 8, during talks in Washington, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov jointly appealed to the OSCE to formally dissolve the Minsk Group.
