At a SCO+ format meeting held in Tianjin, China, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated that the “Zangezur Corridor” will soon become an important segment of both the Middle Transport Corridor and the North–South route.
He added that the project would contribute to strengthening peace and expanding multilateral cooperation, APA reports.
Aliyev emphasized that, in his view, the implementation of the “Zangezur Corridor” would benefit all of Azerbaijan’s neighbors—both nearby and distant—to the country’s east, west, north, and south.
In Washington, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and former U.S. President Donald Trump officially reached an agreement on launching the “Trump Route.”
“The route will allow Azerbaijan to access Nakhichevan while fully respecting Armenia’s sovereignty. Armenia is also forming an exclusive partnership with the U.S. to develop this corridor, which could be extended for up to 99 years—with a promise to renew it for another 99 years afterward. We anticipate major infrastructure development, and American companies are eager to enter these countries and invest heavily, which will bring economic benefits to all three nations,” Trump said.
