Testimonies of Armenian captives fully read in Baku court

On September 5, the Baku Military Court continued the trial of captured Artsakh leaders and other Armenian prisoners, concluding the reading of all pretrial testimonies.

According to Azertag, the courtroom was attended by the defendants, their lawyers, some of the alleged victims, legal successors, representatives, and state prosecutors.

The presiding judge announced that the reading of all 15 individuals’ pre-investigation testimonies had been completed.

David Manukyan requested the court to consider only his in-court testimony, not the pretrial version. Former Artsakh President Arkadi Ghukasyan made the same request.

Levon Mnatsakanyan, former Defense Army Commander, said he disagreed with parts of his preliminary statements.

Former Presidents Bako Sahakyan and Araik Harutyunyan, along with David Ishkhanyan, also urged the court to rely solely on their testimonies made during the trial.

Former Foreign Minister David Babayan, after a private consultation with his attorney, asked to present his stance on the disclosed and pretrial statements at the next hearing. The judge granted this request.

The next court session is scheduled for September 8.
