U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated that President Donald Trump invested more energy and effort than any other global leader in promoting peace, achieving tangible results in the process, as reported by Minval.az .
According to Rubio, a solution to the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict was found thanks to Trump’s involvement.
“Let’s not forget, it was Trump who mediated in the war between Congo and Rwanda. Because of his efforts, a solution was reached in the Armenian-Azerbaijani issue. In addition, the U.S. President managed to halt conflicts between Thailand and Cambodia, and between India and Pakistan. These are just a few examples from recent months. And it was the U.S. President who made it happen—not the United Nations or any other global leader,” Rubio emphasized.
*On August 8, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held a trilateral meeting at the White House, which concluded with the signing of a Joint Declaration summarizing the outcomes.
During the same visit, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in the presence of the three leaders, preliminarily signed the “Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.”*
