Azerbaijan says Americans participate in “Zangezur project”

Speaking at the 6th Caspian Business Forum in New York during a panel on “Middle Corridor: connectivity, finance, and energy,” Hikmet Hajiyev, aide to the President of Azerbaijan, announced that “Americans are involved in the Zangezur Corridor project.”

“Work is being carried out on a 42-kilometer section of the Zangezur Corridor located on Armenian territory. Our partners from the United States are participating,” he said, according to Minval.az .

He added that Azerbaijan is investing heavily in infrastructure development. “The cargo capacity of the Baku port is 25 million tons annually, and efforts are underway to expand this potential.”

Hajiyev also noted that construction of the railway from Baku to Zangilan and the Armenian border is planned to be completed by mid-2026.

“The third section covers Nakhichevan. Investments are also being made there, and we invite other international partners, including European states, to cooperate. The main goal is to turn the South Caucasus into a space of cooperation,” the Azerbaijani official stated.
