Estonia emphasizes the importance of regional peace and strengthening mutual trust.
Estonia’s Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated that his country supports Azerbaijan’s efforts to deepen the peace process with Armenia. According to him, Tallinn consistently stands by initiatives aimed at fostering peace and stable cooperation in the South Caucasus, reports 1lurer.am .
Minister Tsahkna also welcomed the joint declaration signed in Washington this August, noting it demonstrates both sides’ commitment to normalizing relations.
He affirmed that Estonia, within the European Union framework, is ready to continue supporting programs aimed at developing regional infrastructure and strengthening confidence, emphasizing the particular importance of the TRIPP initiative.
On August 8, a trilateral meeting was held at the White House between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. A joint declaration was signed following the meeting in Washington.
During the same visit, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in the presence of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the U.S., pre-signed the “Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
