Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov commented on Armenia’s alleged intention to abandon Russian wheat in favor of Ukrainian imports, as claimed by Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service. He stated that such statements “are never baseless,” RIA Novosti reports.
Responding to questions about the report, Peskov said, “Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service’s statements are never made without basis.”
At the same time, he expressed hope that cooperation between Russia and Armenia would continue: “There are frequent high-level contacts. There are many issues on the bilateral cooperation agenda between Russia and Armenia. We hope this cooperation will continue.”
Earlier, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan dismissed the wheat-related claims as “absolute nonsense,” denying any intention to shift from Russian to Ukrainian grain imports.
