Armenian ambassador presents Karabakh process to Canadian speaker

Ambassador of Armenia to Canada Armen Yeganyan met with the speaker of the House of Commons of Canada Andrew Sheer on February 28.

The two men discussed issues relating to Armenian-Canadian cooperation, inter-parliamentary collaboration, marking, in particular, activities of the Friendship Group.

As the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reports, regional issues were also on the agenda. By request of the Canadian speaker, the ambassador briefed on the attempts to normalize the Armenian-Turkish relations and recent developments in the process of Nagorno Karabakh conflict peace resolution.

Ambassador Yeganyan drew Mr. Sheer's attention to destructive stance of Azerbaijan in this matter which hinders the negotiation process over the conflict resolution.

He thanked the legislative and executive bodies of Canada on behalf of the Armenian government for recognizing the Armenian Genocide and demonstrating principle approach to the issue.
